mount beach

well...I have been hoping I might get my camera going and update with some beach photos from the weekend but no! so heres a few from my friend lauras phone camera, he wasnt so sure of the sand just stod there looking uneasy about the sand between his toes, but once he played around a bit with his friend dom he was fine, chucking the sand everywhere! he even got to have a swim with dad in the waves, Devons going to love the beach near mums house...cant wait!

Ginger Slice

150grams Butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup finely chopped crystallised ginger
icing
50g butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger

Melt butter in a saucepan large enough to mix all ingredients. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Sift flour, baking powder and ginger into saucepan. Mix until combined. Press into 20cm square tin. Bake at 180 c for 20 minutes or until lightly golden. ice when warm and cut into squares, sprinkle with ginger crystals if desired.

Ginger Icing
Melt butter and golden syrup. Mix in icing sugar and ginger until well combined.

Its very tasty!! not to gingerish and not to crunchy haha just right!!

sleepy times

aww look who I found sleeping in his cot, he actually co-operates with bed time now. soo cute as soon as I say nigh nights he put his head down on the ground and his bum up than goes to his room and asks for teddy. Love my little boy!




after waking up he thought itd be funny to run up and down his cot and dive around like a maniac...thats Devon :D

Seedlings!!

Yay my seeds have become plants yehaaa!! I am becoming quite a green finger...they are capsicum seedlings, cant wait to put them in with my other veges, so far I have Strawberries, Broccoli, tomato plants (beef steak, sweet100, moneymaker) silverbeet, spinish, basil, gourmet lettuce selection, parsley, I have also planted a few marigolds and a lavendar, they sure will smell and taste yum over summer! can't wait

An enjoyable Saturday

Today Devon and I went spent the day with our friend Laura and her wee boy Dominic. Had a lovely lunch in their backyard, soup and a lil snack plate for the kiddies, Laura's awesome at making great meals!!!We had a look at Kmart and then took the boys home for a nap which turned into a looong sleep, 4 hours for Devon!!Laura and Dom came over later on to try my yummo muffins and have a coffee, whilst the boys caused havoc out back haha..Devon managed to get his first stubbed toe (without realizing) he loved pushing the trolley back and forth on the concrete path, the boys made toads stew soup (I think) was interesting hehe and Devon managed to finally get lift off with the notorbike yaay so cute!!

yummiest muffins EVER

yumm in my very own oven is some delicious chocolate muffins
I got the recipe by googling chocolate muffins and came across this easy to make recipe

Decadent Chocolate Muffins

2 ½ cups self raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup cocoa powder
1 cup brown sugar (firm pack)
150g dark chocolate (bits/melts/chopped)
2 eggs
125 butter – melted
1 cup milk
Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder. Stir in sugar and chocolate.
Combine butter, milk and eggs in a separate bowl, and then fold into dry ingredients.
Spoon mixture into greased muffin tray, and bake at 180˚C for 15-20 minutes.

my week

I had my first wedding photography experience last weekend, I really enjoyed myself, but was a little disappointed in the results of what I had taken, I definatly learnt alot that day, can't wait to apply my new learned skills to the next wedding.

This week we got Devons new car seat, a recaro young sport!! Devon sits in it comfortably, and looks super comfy when he falls asleep. He even got angry at us when we stopped at a friends house as he had just fallen asleep aww... (will update later with Devon in his seat)

6 weeks to go until our Aussie Christmas!! very exciting as mum doesn't know we are coming over yet!!! now I've just got to plan for our early Christmas with Ross' family and a few friends, hopefully my Nana will make it over too. I'm hoping to make a gingerbread house this year, which shall be funny as Ross always says I go half heartily into things so we shall see the final project and have a good laugh!!
